Compassion Above Love

Minimum Viable Day

A small daily companion: focus for a while, tend to what makes a day count, and note one good thing. A nourished day beats a productive one.

Today's stack

Pick what fits today's energy, not what you think you should do. Even one counts as a whole day. (Each is explained below.)

A dash of gratitude

One thing you're grateful for, however small. The small ones count double. Write as little or as much as you like.

Saved. Good on you for showing up.

You've been here

The days you showed up, in any amount. Gaps aren't failures; they're just rest. Tap a filled day to see what you noted.

How to use this

There's no wrong way. But here's what each part is for.

What a Minimum Viable Day is

Some days you have a lot to give; many days you don't, and those are the ones this is built for. A Minimum Viable Day is the smallest set of things that still make a day count: not a productive day, a nourished one. The goal isn't to fill every box. It's to notice that even one portion, even just sleep, is a whole day and not a failed one. A floor to stand on, not a bar to clear.

The focus timer

It's a Pomodoro: one stretch of protected, single-tasking attention, then a real break. The classic rhythm is 25 minutes on, 5 minutes off, and you can change both. The point isn't to grind; it's the opposite. A short block of doing one thing gets more done, and costs less, than an hour of scattered half-attention. Tell the timer what you're working on, start it, and let everything else wait until it rings. Finish a block and it checks that portion in today's stack for you.

The seven portions

Not a checklist to complete but a menu to choose from. Each is a real way to nourish a day. On a full day you might touch several; on a hard day, one is plenty.

Focus

One thing, with your full attention. A single task you give yourself to completely, even for one timer's length.

Play

Something with no point but itself. A little spontaneous, a little silly. Not the reward for a good day; part of what makes one.

Connect

One real moment with another person, or with the world. A genuine exchange, not a scroll. A short one counts.

Move

Move your body, however gently the day allows. A walk, a stretch, dancing in the kitchen. Not exercise to earn or endure.

Reflect

A quiet moment turned inward. Notice how you're actually doing, without rushing to fix it. The gratitude line above is one way in.

Rest

Unfocused, on purpose. No goal, no screen. Let your mind wander and go nowhere. One of the things that makes a day whole.

Sleep

The real rest, the one that resets everything. Protecting it isn't lazy; it's the foundation the rest stands on. Some days it's the only portion you need.
